Blogger and Social Media Content Creator

Hi I’m Kim. I’m a married mum of 4 living in Yorkshire UK. I’m a former NHS nurse but after a 20 year career I stepped back from the NHS to follow my dreams of working in the interiors industry. I am now a part time interior design student, part time as a dog walker and full time a household manager, blogger and social media content creator.

After moving to a new house 7 years ago we needed to furnish a much bigger space with very little budget so I began picking up unwanted items from friends and charity shops and giving them a new lease of life. I soon discovered that pre-loved and upcycled items gave our home character and personality and I’ve never looked back.

With 4 young children to look after the home decor was somewhat neglected for a few years but now the kids are all at school (Covid permitting) I am gradually working my way through our modern family home bringing the decor up to date and adding my stamp on the place.

I call myself “The Savvy Home Stylist” because I like to think I am savvy about where to spend the money and where savings can be made. In a house with 4 children and a Labrador some things need to be good quality, robust and hardwearing and they are worth investing in. But there are plenty of ways to add style and personality to your home using preloved and upcycled items – better for your wallet, better for the environment and giving your home a unique touch.

So join me as I document my diy, upcycles, renovations and preloved finds and sharing my savvy styling secrets!
